The Grinch Mod is a side-scrolling adventure platformer developed by Casual Brothers. It tasks players with controlling the titular character through Whoville to execute his plan of stealing Christmas. The game is structured around collecting items, navigating environmental puzzles, and avoiding obstacles, with a local co-op mode for a second player to control Max the dog. This places it within the holiday-themed adventure genre, targeting players seeking casual, narrative-driven platforming experiences.
What This Mod Unlocks
- Unlimited in-game currency. The primary resource used for upgrades or in-app purchases is set to a maximum value and does not decrease.
- All premium content unlocked. This includes any costumes, levels, or power-ups that are gated behind paywalls or progression in the official version.
- Ads removed. All interstitial and banner advertisements are disabled.
The mod functions by patching the game's resource management logic. It intercepts calls to deduct currency and returns a fixed high value instead.
To access the mod features, launch The Grinch Mod as normal. The modifications are applied automatically upon loading the main menu. No extra menus or buttons need to be tapped; the unlimited currency will be reflected in the top-right corner display. All unlocked content will be available in the respective shops or level select screens.
The APK requires Android 10 or higher. It does not require root access. The installation will need approximately 550 MB of free storage for the initial OBB data and APK file.
Installation follows standard sideloading procedure. First, download the APK and OBB data files. Second, enable installation from unknown sources in Android settings. Third, install the APK file but do not open it. Fourth, place the OBB folder in Android/obb/com.CasualBrothers.TheGrinchChristmasAdventures/. Finally, launch The Grinch Mod.
There are known edge cases. The unlimited currency may not persist if the game's cache is cleared through device settings. The mod is designed for the single-player campaign; functionality in the local two-player mode is untested. Attempting to make in-app purchases through the modded APK may cause the shop interface to freeze or crash. On some devices with aggressive battery optimization, the game may need to be excluded to prevent the mod from being reset on launch.
