Root access is not required for installation or functionality. The mod does not add new permissions beyond those required by the official Litchi for DJI Drones Mod app for drone control and GPS access.
Installation follows the standard sideload process. First, download the modded APK file. Second, enable installation from unknown sources in the device security settings. Third, locate the downloaded file using a file manager and tap to install. Fourth, launch Litchi for DJI Drones Mod and connect to a compatible DJI drone.
Several edge cases exist. The mod is designed for offline, local use of flight modes. Using unlocked features like live streaming may still require valid credentials for the streaming service. The app's compatibility is limited to the drone models listed in the official description; newer models like the DJI Mini 3 or Mavic 3 series are not supported. Clearing the app's data or cache does not revert the mod. The mod is intended for single-user, non-commercial operation.
