LÖVE for Android Mod is a port of the open-source LÖVE 2D game framework to the Android platform. It allows developers to create, run, and test games written in Lua directly on mobile devices. The app provides the full desktop engine feature set, including graphics, audio, input handling, and file I/O, adapted for touchscreens and mobile hardware. This tool is for indie developers, hobbyists, and educators who want to prototype or play 2D games on Android without a desktop build step.
What This Mod Unlocks
- All premium engine modules and advanced debugging tools are unlocked.
- Export and build restrictions present in the official free version are removed.
- Any in-app purchase checks for professional features are bypassed.
- Watermarks or trial limitations on exported game packages are disabled.
The mod is activated upon first launch. No mod menu is present; the unlocked features are integrated directly into the LÖVE for Android Mod interface. You access them through the same menus as in the official version, but without restriction prompts.
The mod requires Android 4.0 or higher. It does not require root access. Installation will need approximately 8 MB of additional storage beyond the base APK size for modded components.
Installation follows standard sideloading steps. First, enable installation from unknown sources in your Android security settings. Second, download the modded LÖVE for Android Mod APK file. Third, open the downloaded file with your device's package installer. Fourth, confirm the installation when prompted.
Known edge cases exist. The mod functions entirely offline. If you clear the app data for LÖVE for Android Mod, the unlocked state persists as it is baked into the APK. Using the mod to create and distribute commercial games may violate the engine's licensing terms, depending on usage. The mod is designed for v11.3; using it with game data from other LÖVE versions may cause compatibility issues.
