The mod functions by bypassing the license verification for the Emby Premiere features within the Android TV client. It does not modify or provide access to any Emby Server software.
To activate the unlocked features, simply launch the modified Emby for Android Mod TV app. The mod is applied transparently; there is no separate menu or toggle. When connecting to an Emby Server, features marked as 'Premiere' will be available without restriction.
The APK requires Android 5.0 or higher. It is optimized for TV interfaces but will install on phones. Storage requirements are minimal for the app itself, but offline downloads will consume space on the device. Root access is not required.
Installation requires sideloading. First, enable 'Install from Unknown Sources' in the Android TV settings. Download the mod APK file. Use a file manager app to locate and open the downloaded file. Confirm the installation prompt. The official Emby for Android Mod TV app must be uninstalled first if present.
Known edge cases exist. The mod only affects the client. Server-side features requiring a valid Premiere key, such as hardware transcoding, remain locked unless the server is licensed. If the app data is cleared, the mod remains active as it is baked into the APK. Using the mod with an Emby Server that has a valid Premiere key is redundant but harmless.
